The best everyday bras come in a few different styles. Here are the key things to know:
-
T-shirt: Designed to disappear, T-shirt bras provide a smooth silhouette beneath fitted clothing, often with moulded cups to provide nipple coverage and a natural, rounded look.
-
Underwire: One of the original bras for everyday wear and for good reason. Underwire bras provide support and a stunning shape, offering lift and definition for all sizes.
-
Wire-free: Many women prefer the wire-free feel and are surprised by how supportive modern wire-free bras can be. Utilising foam cups, wide bands, and supportive fabrics, wire-free bras are the perfect choice for those more relaxed days when you’re after something in-between.
-
Plunge: A great choice for deep necklines, plunge bras are a flattering lingerie style that offer support and comfort, even for bigger busts. Creating a natural lift and closer-set cleavage, plunge bras cut low and stay hidden, making them a go-to for low-cut tops and dresses, v-necks, and wrap tops.
-
Balcony: Featuring cups that cut lower than a traditional bra, a balcony bra (or balconette bra) creates a flattering neckline with a natural shape and lift, ideal for wearing beneath lower-cut outfits. (195 words)

How to Find the Right Everyday Bra
When it comes to bras, comfort comes first, and nine times out of ten, it’s our favourite faded, threadbare bra we reach for day after day, despite having a drawer full of other uncomfortable options. To stop you wasting money on bras you won’t wear, we’re sharing our expert advice on exactly what to look for in an everyday bra.
Starting with the band: many of us are so accustomed to wearing ill-fitting bras that we’re confused as to how tight a bra band should actually feel. Should it be snug, or is a bit of stretch best? Ultimately, your band should feel firm but not restrictive, and should lie flat across your back without riding too high or low. You should be able to pull the band out roughly 1 to 1.5 inches from your back; if you can pull it out further than that, your band is likely too big, and won’t offer the support you need.
Next, it’s time to find the right cup. Your everyday bra cup should sit flush against your skin, with no gaping, spilling, or underwire digging in. Depending on the style you opt for, your breasts should feel fully supported and comfortably enclosed within the cups.
Of course, comfort is the most important factor in selecting an everyday bra you’ll love for years to come. Choose high-quality, breathable, and soft fabrics, with straps that don’t slip or dig in. It’s also crucial to consider where you’ll be wearing your bra, and whether it will work with your wardrobe. If a bra is stylish but visible through your top, for example, it’s unlikely to be your daily go-to for the office. Think functionality over fuss, and thank us later.
