In preparation for a total shoulder replacement procedure, I spent several months looking for a bra that would be easy to fit, comfortable to wear and provide me with an acceptable shape under clothing. As my shoulder situation deteriorated, I had to ditch the underwire, figure enhancing, ego satisfying underwire bras I had worn for most of my adult life. By the time my operation happened, I had to reject several bras with non underwired styles - with front closures, pull-ons, stretchy designs - all which promised to be easy to put on and wear, but were difficult to even pull over my breasts and secure. It was a nightmare! I eventually up braless - as I could no longer manoeuvre any bras onto my body - without severe pain.
I asked the surgeon for recommendations. He could give none.
Two weeks after my operation, I was suffering from breasts which developed heat rashes under the creases and I lacked the confidence to wear some of the clothes I loved as I would look visibly “braless.”
In desperation I googled “bras for post shoulder operations.”
Success! Such bras existed.
Evelyn:Bobbie was the brand.
However I was sceptical because of my earlier disappointments.
My daughter also was reluctant to buy online because of the usual unknown “pitfalls” of not being able to “try before you buy.”
However, she found an Australian outlet in Victoria - and my relationship with “Shescience” began.
I am now the proud owner of 3 Defy bras. My life changed since the first time I put the first one on. And I was still in my third week post op!
Easy to pull on; easy to remove; easy to sleep in; perfect comfort and attractive line under my clothing. Absolute bliss!
What a shame that I had to discover such a wonderful bras through adversity and necessity!
What a joy that I now have the knowledge to wear what my body needs.
BTW, I have purchased 2 briefs to match my bras…absolute perfection for body movement, coverage and texture of material - silky, smooth and a pleasure to wear.

Can wear this bra all day with zero discomfort, digging in, pinching etc.
I love that it is pretty much invisible under clothing, and somehow still has good lift despite no wire or tight bands. It fits smoothly to your shape, has good nipple coverage and separation. Highly recommend for low impact, comfortable support!!

For those times when you want a supremely comfortable, smooth, seamless and wire-free bra, that truly supports a (very) large bust, this is the bra for you! How it holds the girls up, I’ll never know, but sometimes a little mystery can be a good thing. No more slipping straps and wires digging in. I could live in this bra, it is that comfortable. I’m so glad this was recommended to me.

As I have shoulder pain preventing me from easily putting on a bra I needed one without hooks. This bra is easy to pull up like bathers . It is comfortable all day.

Have only worn crop tops for many years due to mastectomy and recent surgeries meant more support was needed. I dreaded a bra with underwire. Came for a fitting (amazing service btw) and the Defy bra ended the search. Comfortable, great underarm coverage so no side boob showing, soft and yet still amazingly supportive for a D cup. Ended up buying in black and salt colorway. Wear them constantly, washed up twice beautifully in a mesh bag. No underwires, no pinching. I am a broad fit too so I’m very happy with how it feels. Will be buying more I am sure.

It’s literally the most comfortable bra I have ever worn. Somehow it helps my floppy big ol boobies stay UP as well?! I’m not even sure how this is possible after breastfeeding two babies and putting on 20kg. All I need now is enough money to buy 5 of these because I will never need another bra again. P.s I wear it to bed too!

This is without doubt the most comfortable bra ever. Doesn't slip off my sloping shoulders, gives great support and I don't need to rip it ff at the end of the day. I feel that perhaps we need a size between the current sizes- because I am a 14 DD the large might be a bit big- I am frightened that as it stretches it is going to get too loose. But great right now!
